Baby Dane turned two last August. Because of his late summer birthday, Dane will not begin kindergarten for 3 and a half more years.
I find myself thoroughly enjoying this child. I'm not used to only having one set of diapers to change, or only one needy little one at home during the day. I'm not used to having a 2-yr-old at home and not worrying about when i'm going to get pregnant again, or having morning sickness most of the day long.
Needless to say, it is pure bliss. We go to the park, we shop, we read, we cuddle, we play. He watches a show while I buzz around getting things done.
Together we get things ready for "the brothers" to come home in the afternoon. Dane is my little buddy for the next 3.5 years, the perfect little caboose to our crazy Coates train...and I am loving every moment of it!

That is awesome! You just keep on enjoying every minute of it! I felt so lonesome and so sad when everyone was gone. I didn't quite know what to do with myself either. It's a very odd feeling. Hence the reason I started working a couple of days a week. Then I suddenly was EXTREMELY busy and now wonder WHAT on earth I was thinking except NOW I NEED to work-darn it. SO life is busy but I sure miss those fun days when I had a buddy or two home with me! Enjoy it!
I think the oldests and the youngests get the best of us. No wonder the middle children are all screwed up!
Danielle was just the same. The best caboose to our family.
They grow up too fast. Enjoy every hug, every cuddle, every little tone of that baby voice, and every curve of that baby face. Before you know it he will be shaving, have a voice an octave lower than yours and a foot taller than you! But you will always be his favorite girl.
I love the one on one time that we get with our kids when the other ones are in school or napping. Priceless.
