We eat waffles with strawberries and whipped cream with my side of the family. This tradition comes from when my parents (Mike and Arleen Wilson) were first married. They didn't have alot of money so this is what they had. As the years went on, we started donating a nice Christmas dinner to the United Food Bank every Christmas Eve, and then come home and have waffles. I vividly remember going to the Food Bank every year to donate that dinner as a child. My parents have always been such examples of service.
Grandpa Wilson gives us a spiritual message after we all watch Luke II. This year it was about standing strong and overcoming temptation in today's world. He used two really good conference talks.
We open an ornament from Grandma and Grandpa Wilson. An old family tradition that has been passed down, and that I love. My tree is full of special ornaments that I received from my mother and grandma when I was a girl.
This year my mom sent the boys on a scavanger hunt to find their gifts from her and my dad. The boys love this.
Back at our house we always read The Night Before Christmas. The kids set out a treat for Santa and usually write him a letter. Cody really wants to know what Santa thought of him this year.
Finally, the firepit and marshmellows!
My mom always does such a pretty tree.

I'm jealous. I cannot even explain to you our Christmas Eve, year after year. But next year I am putting up the fight to put some Christ in our Christmas Eve! :)
That sounds like so much fun! You look so much like your mom!
I love your traditions! What fun memories that you have as a child and what fun memeories you are making for your children.
