Putting Christ Back Into Christmas

I hate to get all political...But then again, it is MY blog. If you are easily offended, stop reading now. After Tyler's performance last night, I feel a sense of duty to say something about this. His preschool follows the rules and regulations of the Chandler schools. Although his school is nothing short of fantastic, I was so disappointed in how they totally ignored Christmas as a Christian tradition and holiday. I have never seen a school be so politically correct. They wouldn't even say the word "Christmas" all week long. At their "Holiday Concert" they sang songs like "We Wish You a Very Merry New Year". Tyler was cute, but it was totally rediculous.

Now, I am not ripping on certain school districts. However, I am thankful to be part of one that still recognizes the Christian religion at this time of year. Both Cody and Preston studied Christmas traditions around the world for the last month. They now know how people in many different countries (including the U.S.) celebrate CHRISTMAS. That being said, I do feel that it is our responsibility to keep the traditions of our country and religions alive. It is scary to think that all of our schools could someday not recognize ANY religion. I will definitely let Tyler's school know that it bothered me. It will also make me think twice about whether or not my preschooler attends this school next year. I guess that I just don't fit in with the politically correct, liberal crowd!

I hear you!! It makes you wonder what is becoming of the United States and our school systems. They forget what this country was built on, and that is faith and religion.

Amen sister! I couldn't agree with you more. If the silent majority say nothing, nothing will change. The libs are the vocal minority.
