Outliers

I am currently reading Outliers, by Malcom Gladwell. As an educator many people often ask me if they should put children in school early, hold them back, or how to get their child ahead. This book has the best explanation that I have seen on how people succeed from as early as their toddler years. Best of all, it is based on research. It explains why I work with my kids so much at home. It explains why I am SO much more picky about teachers than schools. It explains why and how giving our children certain opportunities will change their lives dramatically. It explains why it is imperative that children learn to assert themselves at a young age. This is an excellent book that, I believe, everyone with children should read. The research in this book will simply blow you away.

Thanks for sharing that with me. I will have to read it. Because of my education background I think I'm a lot the same way. I'm sure I will enjoy this book.

I just tried to get it from the library and there were like 177 holds. Must be good. I'll have to buy it.

I'd also like to throw in my 2¢ on Outliers.

Gladwell really knows how to make a point and once again he does it here very well.

Pure desire is not enough - we all have to work hard, very hard, and practice practice practice if we are to get the best out of ourselves and our kids.
