Hearts

I have had several people ask me how to do both the cookies and hearts on sticks. For the cookies, make your favorite sugar cookie recipe and cut thick hearts out of the dough. Do not use store bought cookie dough, and make sure that you use a recipe that cuts easily. After you bake the cookies, remove them from the pan while still hot. Stick the scewer into the cookie. Simple. It makes regular cookie decorating into fabulous cookie decorating. Kids LOVE these.

For the paper hearts, cut hearts out of regular construction paper. Hot glue scewers onto the backs of them. I do 100 as that is how many scewers come in one pack. Stick them into your lawn. Make sure that your sprinklers are turned off!

***The bamboo scewers can be purchased at Walmart in the kitchen gadget isle. They are only $1.00 for 100.

I sure love your cookies and hearts. So so cute.

Yes we sure did miss you at the lunch. Funny that you saw Erin Hatch I was just thinking about her and thought hmmm I should try to find her and invite her to the lunch we had. We will have to try to do it again soon. I like the every quarter or every six month idea. It would be fun to see everyone a little more often.
