To me, Valentine's Day means sugar cookies. I don't make them at Christmas or Halloween, but I do love to make them for Valentine's Day. When I was growing up, I would wake up on Valentine's day to a big heart sugar cookie with pink frosting and sprinkles. This year I made 80 Valentine sugar cookies on sticks. Enough for the ladies I Visit Teach, Cub Scouts, my own kids, and Tyler's and Preston's school classes...whew! I learned on BIG lesson this time around. Never, and I mean never, try to cut and bake sugar cookies with a baby and a 3-year-old underfoot. What took me all day yesterday, took me 1 hour at 5 this morning (I even cleaned everything up in that hour).
By the way, I am a big fan of homemade cookies. One of my friend's says, "Monica, nobody makes cookies from scratch anymore." Well, we do. It kind of makes me feel like a pioneer woman or something when she says that. However, I will argue until the day I die that there is nothing like a homemade cookie.

We make them from scratch too. Nothing beats a homemade sugar cookie with homemade frosting. Mmmm! Actually, most of the stuff I make is from scratch, not much from a box. It really isn't that hard and the results are so much better. Usually ; ).
Amen to homemade cookies! Anything homemade really. I think it is so fun to get out all the ingredients and have your kids gather round (preferably not underfoot) to help with cookie or treat or dinner making. I think that as a society we are way to in to having it now. Besides EVERYTHING tastes better if it's homemade! I want one of your cookies right now!

I 1000% agree! ONLY homemade cookies here, hence my chub! ;) but thanks for sharing last night. yum!
I couldn't agree more! I love homemade anything but especially homemade sweets. I am a huge fan of homemade sugar cookies!!! Those cookies look delicious!
