Dad's Birthday

This Wednesday is my dad's 61st birthday. I have always thought that I have a fantastic father. My dad is truly an example of faithful service. I remember taking families Christmas, and giving to those in need ever since I was a little girl. It just so happens that dad is also a fabulous grandpa. My kids LOVE him to pieces. On Saturdays you will find dad sitting there with us at sporting events. He loves to take the kids on "dates". They rotate, and he and my mom let them pick wherever they want to go, just like they did with us when we were kids.

Tonight we celebrated with a yummy bbq. The kids picked out a Valencia orange tree that we gave him to plant in his new backyard for his birthday. Later, he took us on his favorite walk through an alfalfa field near their house. Him and Kaiser, their lucky dog, take walks here all of the time. My dad has always liked to go on walks. This is where I think I got my love of exercise. It was beautiful tonight. The sun was going down, it was about 75 out, and we could see Four Peaks, Red Mountain, the Superstitions, and the Santans all around us. Love the desert!
