Celebration of Learning

Each year in May, our elementary school has a "Celebration of Learning". This is where each of the hallways and classrooms is decorated in a certain theme and the children display projects they have worked on throughout the year. The kids love to show off what they have done, and we love to see the spectacular displays. Well done boys!

Cody did a project on an alligator book that he read for A.R. Didn't it turn out well? I got to do the trees! I am very proud of my trees!
His cityscape.
The second grade just finished a long unit on bugs. Cody got to learn so many new things about bugs. His class released thousands of ladybugs, raised butterflys, and went to a butterfly habitat at the Desert Botanical Garden. It has been a fabulous experience for him. They really do some great things at this school
Preston's class learned all about farm animals. They also visited a working farm. He was very, very excited to show off his work. I know i'm old, but when I was in kindergarten we learned letters and numbers. Kindergarteners today are writing paragraphs, journals, and stories. They even use the Six Writing Traits and graphic organizers in their work. It is amazing how far they will go when their minds are stretched. As an English teacher, this blows my mind. Even a few years ago, we didn't teach the writing traits until jr. high.
Preston's cow, "Bob".
Preston's pig.
My favorite, Preston's sheep.
Preston and Mrs. Cruz. She is such a kind and loving lady. She is so patient with all of her little monsters around. Preston never, never wants to miss a day of school. I worry about the summer because of this. We love her! What an awesome teacher!!

I love it! That is so fun! I love all the neat fun things that they do at school. I like that they incorporate so many different ways of learning.
