Listening

I was given some very wise advice over the weekend by one of the most wise people that I know. I was advised, "Don't wake up in the morning and try and accomplish everything in one day" (a big problem that I have). "Instead, wake up, pray, and let the Spirit guide you on what to start with. Just go from there and you will feel better and accomplish more."

I have thought about these words so much over the last couple of days, and taken the advice very seriously. It has been an amazing so far. It is also interesting how the Spirit sometimes guides us to start with things we normally wouldn't have done first. Then, this simple act (whatever it may be) changes everything for that day.

We live in an age where women are constantly trying to do all and be all. We never seem to stop. Guilt runs rampant in our minds. "Am I doing enough?" "Am I doing the best for my kids, my husband?" "Am I enough?" These pounding thoughts cause us to never feel like we are enough. We are our own worst enemies, and Satan just loves us to feel this way. I am learning to let go and realize that the Spirit works in the opposite manner. He is simple, quiet, careful, peaceful, and reverent (even on a Tuesday).

We just have to stop and listen.

Monica~Thanks for this post. You are so right. We do expect so much of ourselves and we need to remember, we ARE enough and most important, we need to let HIM lead us at all times.
