Saturday's Adventures

WARNING!! This post is as long as my Saturday was. However, just like my Saturday, the end will be well worth it.

Saturday was unbelievably busy, as usual. However, thanks to my sweetheart, we were organized and worked with precision together in order to get everything accomplished. Whew, i'm tired just thinking about it...

It all started early in the morning with the Forces vs. the Bulldogs. It was an enormous win for the Forces! Cody is loving playing tight end and fullback on his tackle team.
Then, it was a rush to the next game; the Jets vs. the Redskins. This was a big game as the Red Skins is the team that won the "Superbowl" last year, and knocked Cody's flag team out of the playoffs. Unfortunately, it was the Jets first loss of the season, but it was close. We will get them next time for sure!
The interesting thing about this game was that this guy (Larry Fitzgerald of the Cardinals) watched Preston's entire flag game. Seriously! We don't know why he was there, but we are pretty sure he is scouting Preston for the NFL. We'll just have to tell him, "Sure, right after his mission and college Larry."
We rushed off to do a little bit of this...And started getting the soil ready for a fall garden (exciting for me).

Finally, I found myself at the Stake Center eating appetizers and listening to President Matt Riggs speak. Ironically, he had some very powerful words about doing difficult things even when we are tired and don't feel like it. His words were peppered with humor and basketball stories, which I always appreciate. My favorite part was when he spoke about how he found balance in his own life between self, family, church, and work.

Then, sister Beck and others taught us about the joys of being part of a Relief Society and women in the church today. How uplifting these conferences are for me. I loved it.
And my favorite part of the night was when a few unexpected ladies met up at a favorite restaurant to have some of this...
I've not laughed that hard in a long, long time. I love the spirits of each of these ladies. Most of all, I enjoyed sitting back and watching all of the different personalities work together. It was AWESOME! We had a ball. Sometimes I think that I only need to be around people who are (or who I think are) exactly like me. Saturday night I realized how limiting that can be. Branching out is sure alot more fun!
And then I went to bed.
The End
