Perfect Attendance

Today I sat in the Power Ranch Elementary Honor Roll assembly. They always begin with the "Perfect Attendance" awards. These are for children who have not missed ANY school the entire quarter. At the end of the year there is a drawing for a big prize like a bike, etc. for those who don't miss the entire year.

I was very distracted during this time because we NEVER earn "Perfect Attendance". I tell my children every year, "I want you to be perfect a some things, but attendance is not one of them. I don't want to be stressed if we go on a vacation or to the dentist. You will never win that bike at the end of the year, and you need to be O.K. with that." To my dismay, Mrs. Turcotte (principal extrordinaire) called, "Cody Coates". He looked back at me puzzled and then shrugged. I looked behind me to see if there was another mother of another Cody Coates, and then shrugged back at him.

Somehow, by some act of God, Cody and Preston both earned "Perfect Attendance" for the 1st quarter at Power Ranch Elementary. This event deserves it's own blog post because it may never, in this lifetime anyway, happen again. Way to go kiddos!!

That is an award I highly doubt we will ever win at our house. Conner and Brilynn is the past have kind of tried for this award but I don't think we've ever had this award. I am way impressed that you guys got this award. This award is not an easy one to get either!
