The Polar Express and Other Important Places

We decided, at the last minute, to catch the Polar Express! If you live in Arizona, and have been told that you must buy your tickets a year early, it's a myth.

From past experience we learned that the The Polar Express is always more fun with someone else. So, we found some friends, surprised our kids at school (Warren's favorite part!), and took off to Flagstaff.
Here's our 1st stop, reindeer farm.
Why does Cody have that look on his face? Because he is being mauled by many little psycho reindeer who want some corn. We had a good time here. The reindeer were literally overwhelming. I must say that we got to see more species of animals there in 20 minutes, than we see in a whole day at the Phoenix Zoo. It really was a good time!

The kids LOVED feeding the deer.

2nd stop, The Polar Express!

So magical for the kids...even the big boys.

My favorite part!

All of the kids.

3rd stop, Sedona. As we drove from Flagstaff through Oak Creek Canyon Warren asked me why I have never told him about the thick, lush forest up there. It is breathtaking. A must if you haven't seen it. People don't know that over 25% of Arizona is National Forest land.
These are some scenic pictures of Sedona for my friend Robyn in Oregon! Droesn't this look like the tree in Harry Potter that eats everything?

The famous red rocks of Sedona. This was our view as we ate a picnic lunch, relaxed, and enjoyed the beauty of Arizona. It was a fabulous day!

The kids were in Heaven.

But, most of our day was spent at the river as Warren, Joe, and the kids tried to retrieve an important object from the water. They really are having as much fun as it looks like they are. I think they did this for at least two hours.

Do you see the very important object?

Warren went to great lengths to get the ball as it became a competition between the dads.

Too bad Joe threw a rock and popped the ball after all of that work! We still love you Joe!

We are so thankful for trips like these. I know that my kids will remember this one forever. It was simply a great trip! With four small children (10 with the Rasors) trips like these can be daunting. However, it was such a good time. I'm glad we did it!

That looks like a blast! I have always wanted to do the Polor Express trip but I always thought that you had to book it way way in advance. Now my kids are getting pretty big and they probably wouldn't appreciate the whole Polar Express experience. I think we will have to take a family with us with some smaller children.

I love the pictures of our beautiful Arizona that put on here. We do have some very pretty places here and I think they are very often over looked!

Glad you guys had so much fun!
