I'm a Year Younger This Year!

Warren and I go back and forth about birthdays each year. He has a hard time turning older, while I am usually just thankful that my 20's are over. I don't pay much attention to age. In fact, Warren has to remind me how old I am most of the time. Last December my birthday went well. I turned 37, and went on with life.

A couple of months ago, at dinner with friends, we were discussing age. Warren asked me how it would feel to turn 37 this year. I quickly reminded him that I was already 37. "No, you're 36, I must have told you wrong last year."

I did not quite know what to do. Should I be happy, or mad? Afterall, I only got to call myself "36" for two months of my life. But then again, how many people get to be 37 for two years in a row?

And so, I am happy to inform you all that on December 18th, I will be turning 37...again.

I love this post! I am like Warren I hate that I am getting older. What makes it worse is that Brian is 9 months younger than I am so he is always reminding me that know matter what I'm always his old lady. Since you know Brian you know that this is of course said in a loving playful manner. Anyway, each year when he has his birthday he has to ask me how old he's turning because he doesnt' remember and doesn't honestly care. I wish I was like you and Brian and didn't know how old I was and didn't care! I love that you thought you already were 37. It's like you didn't age this year!

I sure love and appreciate you. I love that we are such great blogging buddies and we really should get together and do something together! We should celebrate your 37th birthday!

Take Care-Love Ya,
JoLynn

That's funny! I'm like you, don't care too much about my age. My grandma always used to say, "Getting older beats the alternative".

I love it! Chad has to remind me how old I am too. It's the memory thing we were talking about. :)

Monica, I love you! I just had the exact same experience with Jonathan. I don't know why I thought I was 37 all year, but it will just make Saturday easier. Happy early birthday from your older friend!

That is so funny! I'm glad you aren't turning 38 because that would mean that I already was and I don't want to be. I wish I didn't care about birthdays but I do. I'm right there with Warren. Hope you have a good one. Only a week left of being 36.
