Camping 2010

Last weekend we went on one last impromtu camping vacation to Hon Dah Arizona. We were lucky enough to tag along with two of our very favorite families. We are cabin campers, not tent campers, so we were a little bit worried. However, the families we went with are experts, and were patient with us. It proved to be SO much fun! I hope to do it again next year.
We camped right next to the beautiful Black River.
We fished for (and ate) Brown Trout. Cody, Owen, and Warren even ate their eyeballs...eeeeeew!!
We went off road!

We went to Big Lake. This is such beautiful country. If you've never been to this part of Arizona, you MUST go. Warren compares it to Jackson Hole, Wyoming .

We went on walks in the beautiful summer rain.

Cody found a tire somewhere, and the dads made this swing. It was a sure favorite!!!

We sat around and looked really cute!

Warren taught Preston to drive...seriously!
Tyler was the best fisherman on the trip. This was funny because he was the only kid who could have cared less about catching a fish!
We also cooked in Dutch ovens (Thanks Joe!), ate 'smores, and saw deer, elk, wild turkeys, among other animals. We had a fabulous time!

That is so funny this whole camping trip sounds an aweful lot like our experience. We were up in the same area too and thank goodness we were with a "camping" family because we are like you guys were more "cabin campers". But I'm with you~it was a good experience and one I will do again sometime.

Take Care,
JoLynn

fun what a great family trip and Warren is right it does look like Jackson hole Wyoming. I wish we would have gone camping there before we left. I love the picture of you. You have a beautiful smile!

It looks like you had a blast. We haven't been up on the Black River for years...in fact...it was there that I put my fishing pole down on the ground and James ran by, got his leg tangled in my line and the hook went into my finger. When I told him to stop, he ran, thinking I was going to slug him when in reality, I was running after him because the hook was in my finger! ha. Still, very good memories and I am glad you and your family are able to see that part of our beautiful State. Love you

FUN Trip, glad we have those memories. Wish I would have gotten my camera out. Next year we need to camp at the lake.

looks like so much fun. I am not the biggest camping fan but once a year doesn't hurt. We have a small tent trailer that is the only reason I will camp at all. It's a 1980, I'm sure you're jealous. LOL!
