"I had quite a unique experience this week that was really a wake up call for me, and it sure strengthened my testimony of the protecting power of the Holy Ghost. Elder Skowbow and I went to try to see one of our investigators the other day, but she wasn't home. So, we decided to tract some of the houses surrounding hers. We knocked on about 6 or 7 doors, but nobody was home. We finally got to a house where someone answered. The guy was a complete freak! I did the usual door invite, asking him if he wanted to learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ, and he said no. I then proceded to ask him if he belonged to a church to which he replied, "Yes, I belong to the Covenant of Mother Medusa, it's a Paegan church, and I'm the only male she allowed into the covenant." O.K., so obviously I was weirded out haha, but I offered him a mormon.org card, and he asked if we would like his card. So, politely we said yes. He invited us in to his house while he went to get it. Now, I know we shouldn't have gone in to this weirdo's house in the first place, but I was in missionary mode, and who says we can't try and save Pagans haha? The second I stepped into the door I just felt complete darkness inside that house. There was no hint of good Spirit in there. It was really scary. The house was dark there was weird music playing. I didn't know what to do. Then, I felt the strongest impression I've ever felt in my entire life to leave, no questions, just leave. So, thats exactly what we did. I turned to my companion and said we need to get out of here. He was confused but complied haha. I can't really describe this experience with words, I tried but it didn't do the actual story justice. All I can say is I'm greatful for the power of the Holy Ghost. It was quite the learning experience for me. The power of Satan is very real, but thankfully the power of the Holy Ghost is real as well, and far more powerful. I'm grateful for the gift of the Spirit. If I didnt have it there to give me warning, who knows what would have happened to us? For all we know the guy could have come out of the back room with a chainsaw let alone his card haha. Anyway that was interesting."

Why Missionaries Rock...
My baby brother, Elder Wilson, is serving the second year of his mission in Rochester, New York. My high school friends will remember him as just a baby. Blake was born when I was 16 years old, and a junior in high school. I've spoken of him before. I wanted to share part of an email that he sent last week regarding the power of the Spirit. He is such an example to us all, and especially to my little boys. We love you Blake!

Holy cow, that is kind of scary. And yes we are very thankful for the Holy Ghost at those times.
Hey I hope you are getting some of Blazes letters too. It is awesome to hear about their missionary experiences.
Wow! That is very scary. I'm so thankful for the Holy Ghost in my life I know without a doubt that there have been many times that I've been warned and prompted.
It is so good to see that little boy Blake has grown up into a great young man.

That is so scary, but so true. Good man listening, and such an amazing example for your boys. That story just gives me the creeps...
That makes me think that must have been the same kind of feeling that Joseph Smith felt when in the grove and he said thick darkness gathered around him and it seemed he was doomed to sudden destruction. Thank your brother for that powerful testimony of the reality of Satan!
Wow! I can't believe how old Blake is! I remember him so much younger. Am I that old? That is cool that he serves in NY ... just like your other brother right? Different missions I know. Chad's parents live by Rochester in Attica. Is Attica in his mission?
Amazing story about the Spirit. I think that the missionaries have it so much stronger in their lives. I need to do better at having more in my life.
