Well, the night of the Pinewood Derby finally came.
Very serious business I tell ya. Michelle and Warren run a great show. It takes alot of work to put one of these babies together, especially for 35 cars. I am proud to say that, after it was all said and done, Cody's car won the overall race! I am so proud of him because he, with the help of Warren, built most of his own car. Cody's car was the only car that didn't lose one race. He really had a fantastic attitude. Before the race he said to me, "Mom if I can just win two races I will be happy." He ended up winning 14 races. We were very surprised.
Great job Cody! What I saw out my garage door for one sraight week. Aren't they cute?

Cody and crazy pit guy.

Overall winner!
The NASHcar!!! Doesn't it look cool? I got to spray the primer on before it was painted. I totally had flashbacks of some of the "Stoners" at Mesa High in 1989, driving to school with their primered only cars, listening to
White Snake and
Metalica. Remember that?

As a Cub leader, I had a great time watching these Cub Scouts. I especially loved watching the ones that were just so happy to be there and have fun. Good times!
Now, the Pinewood Derby phenomenon totally blew me away this year. Never have I seen such concentration on anything by any man. I think that someone should write a book about it and make a bunch of money. It could be titled, What is it really about? Men and the Psychology Behind the Pinewood Derby.

This is something that I will not have to go through ever if our family stays like it is right now.
Looks like fun.
Congrats to Cody (& Warren)
Congrats to Warren for, apparently, being the best dad!
Way to go Cody!!
How fun! And BTW, I was one of the stoners driving to school in my boyfriends primer only car listening to Metallica. Hey, you went to a Metallica concert...I remember!
(I wasn't really a stoner...)
