In the fish tank. Just three little fish. Not a big deal? Make sure the water temperature is right. Only feed them good food. They need a place to hide, but don't crowd the tank. Real plants are always better than fake. Make sure the PH of the water is O.K. Hopefully they all get along?
Both have been interesting learning experiences for all of us. When our pets/plants struggle, we worry. None of us has given up yet. When they thrive it is more than worth it. I get to watch vegetables grow in my own back yard! Why is that so interesting to me? We all get to enjoy the happy dancing of our little fish, their bright colors (depending on their moods), and the bubbling aquarium with the cool little light. It's all a matter of balance. I notice that just being able to stay with it, not giving up when it's hard, brings even more joy in the end. I find myself glad that I even tried.

This whole earth life is such a balance, I'm learning. Balancing how to spend our time doing the most worthwhile things instead of the things that clamor the most.
I'm with you - I get so excited when I actually get it right and see something grow!
i just get too darned caught up in messing it up and raising another crop of cockroaches... yuk! but i'm thinking of giving it a go again! :) we'll see...
as for the fish, they are looking better and better and our guinea pig is looking worse and worse. it's all in its own rotation! :)
I smell a scrapbook page in the making here.....
