Discipline

This last week, for six hours every day, Cody attended an outstanding basketball camp at Williamsfield High School. It was put on by varsity and j.v. coaches Swineheart and Butson. What I loved about this camp was that not only did they teach good basketball skills, but they taught the boys about being on time, working hard, doing what you are asked, working together, etc. We have really been trying to teach our boys about "doing things that are hard" lately. However, when you are eight, and hear it from a really cool basketball coach, somehow it is much more effective!

The other thing I liked about this camp was that the boys could "earn" special awards. They didn't just give out awards, the kids had to really work for them. Cody won the "Hot Shot" competition, and got awards in "One on One", and "Skills". This was a great opportunity for Cody. I can't wait for next summer when Preston will be old enough to attend.
The varsity and j.v. players helped all week at the camp. I was impressed with how good they were with the kids. Cody loved them!
Kaden and Brendan, some of Cody's basketball buddies.
Awesome job Cody!

That is so awesome! I love that he worked so hard and that he got results. I love sports because I think that that is what sports and good coaches can help to teach kids is that nothing comes easy. Anything that is worth having takes hard work and dedication. I'm glad to see your sweet little boys learning now rather than later! You and Warren are great parents with great boys!
