Our family has been greatly blessed by Warren's new calling at church . However, I would be lying if I said it was easy. The most difficult part, so far, has been wrestling 4 kids under the age of 9 through Sacrament Meeting all by myself. I must say, each week gets easier. Today my friend said, "Monica, why in the world are you sitting in the second row each week? You are all by yourself for Heaven's sake!"
The answer is simple. The more eye contact with dad, the better the kids are. It is totally a fear factor. Therefore, each week we inch ourselves up one more row. Two weeks ago Cody said, "Mom we are so close that I can see the white parts of dad's eyes!" So, if your kids are having a naughty streak, come on up! We have half a row to spare. We'd love to have you (But don't be alarmed if a Coates boy ends up in your lap by the end of the meeting)!

Love it! Next time we'll join you on the second row and Warren can "eyeball" my kids, too. Think it will work?
you stole our row!!!! Warren doesn't scare me!!!! :)
We only take up a quarter of the row Caroline. Come on up lady!
I hear ya girl! On Sunday, Brylee actually threw up in Sacrament meeting!!! It wasnt pretty and Scott didnt see any of it. I guess I should move a little closer too.
Totally makes me laugh. We were second row sitters too! Britton, Nate and Dave T. used to fight over who got to sit where the pulpit blocked my dad's view.
It is so much easier to handle church when you are sitting up front. We used to sit where the Rasmussens always sat but we switched when George was put in the Bishopric. They needed to see that Daddy was there. Plus, there are less distractions when no one is in front of you. Now my kids don't like sitting farther back.
Oh I love it! Our pretty new Bishop (he was put in March) is also one of our very close friends in our ward. Well his wife and their 5 boys ranging from 3-13 sit on about the 3rd or 4th row each week and she says it's for the same reasons. Kind of funny. You bishopric ladies all have the same ideas.
