Yesterday was a bad day for Warren. In fact it got so bad, that by about 5:00p.m. it became funny.
It all started off at work that morning. Warren is in the middle of his "budget season". This is when there is high stress on the job, and we walk around on tip toes depending on the mood that day. He was extra grumpy yesterday when I called him. Words were shared and he hung up on me, or I hung up on him. I can't remember which, but probably the former.
On his way home from work, he was given a $75.00 "no seatbelt" ticket on Ranch House Parkway (who really gets those anyway?). Warren was REALLY mad about that because I am supposed to be the ticket getter in our family. ***Razzing about the ticket is TOTALLY appropriate the next time you see my husband.
Next, I went on my merry way to Sylvan, only to find out later that Warren had left his keys in his truck, which I was driving. Not to mention that Cody was now stranded at piano lessons with no way for dad to pick him up. Warren had to call around to get the teacher's # and then, thanks to a neighbor, got Cody home.
You think that's bad enough?? You think it's over?? Not done people, only 1/2 way there!
So it was Curriculum Night, and Warren had the three youngest boys. I told him to send them out to friends houses, I mean, that's what we do, right moms?? Warren refused. He said, and I quote, "It can't be that hard taking your own kids to Curriculum Night." I have learned not to argue, especially during "budget season".
Warren had to ride his bike with the baby trailor because of no car keys (I am now laughing thinking of this). Halfway to the school, the chain full on falls off of his bike. SERIOUSLY!!
Once Warren fixes the chain, and finally gets to school, he leaves Preston and Tyler out in the hallway and takes Dane into the first classroom...That lasts about 10 minutes. He did make it through Cody's class though. Afterwards he says to me, and I quote, "Do you have any idea how hard it is to take a baby places to like that? I mean seriously Monica, he was moving all over, and yelling out, and crying!" Yes, I laughed.
Finally, Warren got to go and do some service with the young men and young women. At this point he was positive that he was being called to repentance, and was praying not to get struck by lightning at the activity. All went well...Whew! I was pretty nervous about him leaving me at that point.
To top it off, Warren found a 1.5 inch scorpion on our back wall (thanks Rasors and Footes for the blacklight and amazon torch). Being from Wyoming, desert creatures DO NOT make him happy, to say the least. The good news is that it was a lone scorpion, but our house will be triple treated for them tonight.

the end
p.s.Warren is my #1 biggest fan when it comes to this blog. He reads it every night. However, when we have little spats I "uninvite" him for dramatics. I guess i'll invite him back on now that he's not in the doghouse anymore!!

Next time, call me we'll come pick up the boys and bring them to our house! That stinks about the keys, the chain, the ticket (I avoid Ranch House as much as possible- they're going to get ya for something),and the scorpion! It's all up from here, right? Glad you guys could laugh about it.
Ok, that was seriously funny. Now that I think about it, he did seem a little frazzled at Curriculum Night. Love the "uninviting". That's hilarious.
Shalynn and I have both gotten tickets on Ranch house in the past few months, and it definately ruins your day! Glad you could laugh about the terrible, no good day!
Glad the day is over. Sorry about the scorpion. Once you see one you are always on the look out. Hope it's the last one.
Man it must have just been a roughten day for everyone yesterday! I spent 2 hours at Discount Tire, 4 hours at the doctors office and Brian left our house at 4 a.m. and returned at 8 p.m. What a no good day! I feel Warren's pain! Glad today was a new day!
First of all I am rolling that you "uninvite" him. That cracks me up! And that day was the day from hell! Pardon me. But seriously? I was cracking up reading it. Too funny! Sorry for the crappy day Warren but if it makes you feel better it made me laugh!
BTW I love the part when he asks you if you know how hard it is to take a baby to those things. LOL! Love it!
by the time the chain fell off my bike, i would've dragged my bike pulling my kids home. so funny! i so wish i was there to watch. i would've been cracking up!! :) sorry warren... i'm sure i would've laughed with you, not at you!
