Sunday

Sunday I went to my mom and dad's ward. Sitting there in Sacrament Meeting I felt that safe feeling that you get from your parents as a kid. I told Warren how wonderful it was to just sit there with two people who love me no matter what. It is quite freeing. I miss that feeling and really needed to feel it this week.

Nope, my parents would never judge me on what I am wearing, or if one of my kids decides to scream or throw a fit on the floor. In fact, most of time they think it's cute. They're just happy i'm there, and i'm just happy they're there, an awesome feeling of love and support. I did have to tell my dad to quit playing with Tyler and Preston a couple of times. And, my mom and I taught Cody how to nudge him in case he fell asleep during the "boring" parts.

It was their ward's primary program and Cody wanted to know if he sounded like a Smurf too when he sings in those. He's never heard it from the audience before. I told him that he sounds JUST like that. He was utterly disgusted and shocked!

Then, grandma took Preston and Tyler to her class (to hear one of her spectacular lessons) and helped Cody find his. My dad and I sat in Sunday School together and chased Dane around for a bit while learning about the pioneers arriving in the Utah valley. It was a good meeting.

What a blessing my parents are in my life. Always there. Unfailing. I love them.

So that's why I didn't see you at church! I'm glad you were able to go to church with your parents. I'm even more glad that you got just what you needed!

I love this post. It is definitely our roots that can keep us grounded (no pun intended) and can provide that stregth and things that are constant in our lives. Thanks Monica!

By the way, yes I heard about your mom calling my dad Warren at the cabin. Too funny! Did you hear the latest one about our moms surprising each other upstairs while your mom was holding a pair of white pants? If not, ask your mom. It took my mom forever to even tell the story she was laughing so hard! They are crazy when they are together!

I very much enjoyed your post! It made me think alot about my own children. I'm taking an institute class on Tuesday mornings. Today we were discussing 2NE 4 where Lehi is giving counsel and talking to the children of Laman. As it went on the discussion in our class turned to us always loving our children no matter what, always being there for them unconditionally. We discussed that no matter what our choices are our Father in Heaven always loves us. No He may not always be happy with us and our choices but He always loves us. I love my children no matter what and I hope that they know that and that they know that I'm always here for them. Just like your parents are always there for you! I'm glad that you know that and that you were able to be with them and get that love and reassurance that you needed. Thanks again for sharing this post!

I love this... This is the comfort that I want to give to my kids, why we are having a big family. This is the comfort that my kids give me. I love it and have waited my whole life for this feeling, this love...

So on the lighter note, do you change your background everyday or is there a program that does it for you? :)

I remember how nice your parents were. You're so lucky they are still together.
