I am Martha Stewart today. Well, kinda.

When it is cold I enjoy cooking or baking. Today I did both. I love being in the kitchen but, with a new baby, time is limited. Miraculously, I was able to squeeze these bad boys in today. These recipes are classic favorites of our family. Both are my recipes that I have tweeked to perfection.

Kid Friendly Winter Chile

1 can diced, stewed tomatos
1 small can tomato sauce
1 can corn, drained
1 lb. cooked ground beef
3 cans beans, drained (I use 3 different kinds)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp onion salt
1 tsp. red chile powder

Throw it all into a slow cooker. Let it simmer for four hours. Serve with cornbread.

Monica's Banana Bread
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 cube margarine or butter, softened
2 eggs
4 very ripe bananas
1 pinch of salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbl. milk

Mix together. Batter will be lumpy. Pour into one large, greased loaf pan, or two smaller loaf pans (as shown). Sprinkle with a little bit of sugar. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Remove from pans while bread is still a little bit warm. Enjoy!

Monica,
You're such a good cook. Every year I look forward to your gingersnap cookies! But guess what no gingersnaps this year, instead yummy Chocolate chip! Thanks so much!
